Éire Óg Camogie 2012

Éire Óg Ennis Camogie
2012

This has been a fantastic year for Éire Óg Camogie with our adult team finally making the breakthrough at Junior level, claiming double honours with League success over Feakle & Championship honours over Bodyke. They were also unbeaten in the  Munster Summer League and capped off the year with victory in the final v Youghal. Great credit is due to these girls and their coaches for persevering at what, at times, seemed like a hopeless task with semi-final defeats year after year.
In 2013 , we will compete at Intermediate level for the first time in over 30 years, while our u16s, u18s & u21s will all play at  the “A” grade. It is fantastic for our club & the town of Ennis to see this progression. The town is back !!
U12 team 2012

It doesn’t all happen on the field ! This year we have had many social outings, ice-skating, fashion shows, table quizzes and much more. Lifelong friendships have been formed and great fun has been had. Looking forward to the same in 2013
A word of sincere thanks to our hardworking  committee :
Chairman : Brendan Wall
Secretary  : Mary McMahon
Registrar  : Deirdre Sheehan
Treasurer  : Maria Murphy
Child Officer : Assumpta Hehir

Thanks also to Éire Óg GAA for their support and especially to Martin Nugent for the brilliant job he does in maintaining the pitch and scheduling training & matches for the various teams .
  • U8 & U10  : Our numbers have increased dramatically  at this age group . These .stars of the future thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Go Games Blitzes.Well done to coaches Brendan Kennedy, Sarah Ryan & Kathleen Crehan.
  • U12 & U14B : These girls trained hard all year and the u12s came away with the shield title in the Clooney-Quin tournament as well as enjoying success in the u12 mini league with a fine win over Ruan in the final. Our u14s lost out to a very strong Corofin side in the shield semi-final. Many thanks to Mary Moroney & Anne Howard for their time & effort all year.
  • U16A :. This excellent team were narrowly beaten by Inagh-Kilnamona in the League. Hampered by injury in the championship, they nonetheless progressed to the shield final, where they had a fine win over Clooney-Quin.
  • U18B: Our minor team had an unbeaten run in the championship and capped off the year with an emphatic victory over Corofin/Ruan in the final. They also won out the Clare 7 a side competition and progressed to Munster where they took the honours following a titanic battle with Milford, Cork.
  • Junior A : League & championship  victory catapults this team to intermediate level in 2013. A big challenge that will be well met by the girls & their managers , Brendan Lynch & Niall Malone, who also look after u16s & u18s.
  • U21B : We unfortunately suffered defeat at the hands of Kilkishen in the U21 final. The girls took this defeat on the chin and considering it was only their second defeat in competition this year, no-one was too downhearted.
