All Ireland u21 and Senior Finals
A massive thanks to both Clare teams and their managers for giving us a summer & autumn of thrills and excitement and some fabulous days out !! The pride of seeing our own Davy O'Halloran taking the Man of the Match award in the u21 All Ireland final was unbelievable ! Shane O'Donnell going on to claim the same award in the All Ireland Senior replay is a dream come true, we thought our hearts would burst with joy. Another man to be watched is David Reidy, an up and coming young hurling star who featured on the u21 panel. Thanks to the talent visible around the club at the moment, it won't be too long until Éire Óg will be contributing more than our two current players (O'Donnell & O'Halloran) to the Clare senior panel.
Congrats to our own Gerry O'Connor whose superb management skills have brought two u21 All Irelands in a row to Clare.
Shane, just remember that your fan club started in Éire Og , long before these other lassies got wind of your hurling prowess and good looks. Davy & David, watch out, your names are being mentioned more and more in many a camogie dressing room !!
Lastly, many thanks to our own camogie club members that traveled and supported these teams. Well done to those that made the journeys on the bus , your behaviour was exemplary. Like they say, Nothing beats being there !!
An Clar & Éire Óg Abu !

18/09/2013 U16A v St.Josephs Doora Barefield Éire Og 4-05 St. Josephs 4-01
A hard fought win in a match where we seemed to be cruising to victory with a half time lead of 3-05 to no score. Our opponents were having none of it , however , and outscored us by 4-01 to a single Elana Bradley goal in the second half. Fortunately, we held on and came away with a 4 point victory.

Feile na
nGael 2013
Éire
Óg Camogie club welcomed Na Gleannta of Leitrim to Ennis on behalf of Limerick
Camogie on Friday afternoon. Na Gleannta are newcomers to camogie and the Ennis
girls had a comprehensive win over their guests on Friday afternoon with scores
from Jenni Corry (1-0), Chloe Barry (0-01), Saoirse Warren (1-0) Elizabeth
Russell (1-01), Leah Ryan (1-01), Ciara Kennedy (0-02), Leanne Russell (0-01),
Erin Hehir (2-0) and Eabha Keane (1-0).
On
Friday evening the two sets of players along with mentors and families headed
off to the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick for the wonderful spectacle that was the
Feile parade.
On
Saturday morning, Éire Óg travelled to a sundrenched Cratloe and took on
St.Brides of Knockbridge, Co.Louth. Once again it was the Clare side that came
out on top on a scoreline of 3-04 to a point. Scorers were Elizabeth Russell
(2-02) and Ciara Kennedy ( 1-03)
Next
up was a thrilling encounter with Cratloe . Éire Óg were in the lead by 2
points to no score at half time thanks to scores from Elizabeth Russell and
Ciara Kennedy. A spirited and determined Cratloe side hit the ground running at
the restart and took an early lead with an unstoppable shot to the net and a
well worked point. It was heartbreak for Cratloe, however, as a Ciara Kennedy
goal in injury time gave Éire Óg a one
point lead. The victory was sealed when a fine strike from Erin Hehir rattled
the Cratloe net.
Éire
Óg were once again on the road to Cratloe on Saturday evening to face Parteen
in the semi final. The scoreline of 5-04 to a point belies the huge battle that
took place between these two sides in their quest for a place in the final. The
intense heat and the intensity of all their matches seem to have a greater
effect on a visibly tired Parteen side who were denied time and again by Chloe
Barry between the posts and an excellent Éire Óg defence. Éire Óg had fine scores
from Ciara Kennedy (1-0), Elizabeth Russell ( 1-01), Erin Hehir (2-01) and
Roisin Martin (0-02).
Excitement
and anticipation were high as Éire Óg set off bright and early for Mungret to
take on Kilmaley in an all Clare final. Kilmaley took the lead in the first
half with a pointed free and a goal on the stroke of half time gave them a huge
advantage. Kilmaley struck for goal early in the second half to stretch their
lead. Éire Óg fought hard to add to their two Maria Redmond points but
heartbreak was to be their lot as Kilmaley that took the honours on a scoreline
of 3-03 to 2 points. Nevertheless, it
was a fantastic weekend and an unforgettable experience for all involved. Well
done to players, mentors and parents.
